Tiny Hearts Project
Minik Kalpler Project started in 2008 and is a volunteering project conducted between October and May by the Psychology Department of Bilgi University.
The project aims to bring preschool age groups under the protection of Bahçelievler Child Protection Institution together with the volunteers and to primarily give love and care and support the development of the children in terms of social, language, motor, cognitive and sentimental skills.
Every Saturday, volunteer students visit institutions to show affection and set an older sister/brother example for the children. These volunteer students attend meetings with expert clinical psychologists to go over the problems and possible solutions every two weeks. In addition to this supervision backup, these students also attend training provided by the coordinator of the project, Assistant Professor Zeynep ÇATAY, to improve themselves on children’s developmental features and sentimental needs.
