Teacher Training in Refugee Education Issues
The Vocational Training Centre of the University of Patras conducted a 280-hour program offered for teachers of Preschool, Primary and Secondary Education, university graduates and school management personnel.
The core topics of the programme were;
the refugee crisis
the characteristics of the refugee population
refugee children and adolescents
educational methodologies for teaching Greek as a second language
strategies for developing the mental resilience of refugees
alternative pedagogical approaches to amplify intercultural communication
information about counselling services to emotionally empower refugee children and their parents
