Funding Scheme to Support Refugee Crisis in Greece
Since there is a gap in funding, the quality of non-formal education is not satisfactory. Educators may have little or no experience in psychologically supporting refugee students, “Theirworld” suggests that at least 20 million euros should be raised to supplement the educational programs carried out by UNICEF, UNHCR or local NGOs operating in Greece. Theirworld firmly highlights young refugees’ psychosocial and educational needs, suggesting that Greece should receive international support to implement education plans throughout the country and improve the quality of its services, as the influx of refugee children is expected to increase in the future.
