Reception Structures for Refugee Education (D.E.Y.P.)
The Greek Government established and imposed legislative regulations to promote equal and effective education for refugee children, applying the Joint Ministerial Decision No. 180647/CD4/2016 – FEK 3502/2016/B/31-10-2016. As a result of the legislation above, refugee education structures named D.E.Y.P were settled throughout the country with the ultimate goal of seamlessly integrating refugee children into formal education, emphasising the peculiarities and the educational needs of refugee populations. The curriculum of D.E.Y.Ps covers areas such as the Greek and English language, Mathematics, Information Technology, Artistic Activities and Physical Education, and trained educators deliver the programme.
