Psychosocial Support to Refugee Children and Parents
“Merimna”, a Greek Not-for-Profit Company, and its partner, the University of Athens, designed a handbook that explains the psychological trauma a refugee child has gone through in detail. While the handbook stresses common methodologies and approaches geared towards enhancing mental resilience, it is more of a theoretical directory rather than a manual with technically designed instructions since it provides a holistic picture of mental trauma. The handbook addresses all the essential key features and symptoms of typical manifestations of mental trauma in infants, preschool and school-aged children and strives to develop the observational skills of the reader so that he can identify those symptoms through their behaviour.
